While we are a practice that is focused on high quality surgical care for women with complex gynecologic issues, we also do a fair amount of routine gynecology.  In fact, many patient who self-referred to our practice for surgical care continue with us for their routine care.  We are also happy to accept new patients for routine care.

Why would I go to an out-of-network doctor for routine care?

A fair question to ask!   While the work we do in endometriosis is not commonly offered in other practices, there are lots of great gynecologists out there that will take your insurance in network for routine care, so some of our surgical patients do go to other practices for those visits.

What we can offer that is somewhat different is that our visits are really as long as required to address your issues.  Most practices see 20-30 patients in a day.  We often see less than half that amount, because our goal is to provide the best possible care we can.   In our experience, 30 minute visits just aren't long enough to feel like we have fully addressed the issues at hand, with plenty of opportunity to answer any questions a patient may have.  For this reason, most of our visits are scheduled for 60 minutes or longer.

We also think that when you have questions for your doctor, the doctor should be available to you. In most cases, lab results will be reported with a call from your doctor directly.   If you have questions, your doctor is available to talk to you on the phone, either immediately or with a call back on the same day.
